This romantic-comedy follows Agathe (Camille Rutherford), a clumsy yet endearing bookseller at Paris’s famous Shakespeare & Co., who dreams of living a life worthy of her beloved Jane Austen novels. Struggling to finish her writing and find romance, Agathe travels to England for a Jane Austen writers' residency, where her fairytale expectations collide with reality. There, she becomes involved in an unexpected love triangle and learns that true love isn’t any more scriptable than Austen’s protagonists. Alongside Rutherford, the film features Pablo Pauly as her supportive best friend and a charismatic suitor. Set between Paris and the English countryside, the story celebrates literary daydreams and messy real life with charm.
