Explore landscapes in the Pratt Munson studios this summer! Students work from landscape photos and studies in the studio supported by painting demonstrations and individualized instruction in acrylic or watercolor. Through this tradition of close observation of a masterpiece, artists receive personalized instruction in oils and the unique opportunity to utilize artsworks from the Munson Museum of Art collection. Some previous knowledge of oils is required and beneficial for the class. WORKSHOP | American Landscapes: Painting En Plein Air

This four-session course focuses on a systematic approach to outdoor painting and a focus on fall color. Classes center around how to interpret the outdoor subject in an artistic way. Explore the art of wet felting and needle felting combined with principals of color theory, atmospheric perspective, and more to bring your landscape to life! Participants learn how to create felted fabric from scratch, how to work with pre felt, and explore techniques like felt collage. WORKSHOP | American Landscapes: Forest Floor Weaving

Evoke the mossy magic of the forest floor by learning to weave patterns and textures into a hanging tapestry. Using a frame loom and a variety of yarns and fibers such as wool roving, silk, and wool locks, you will learn to weave.
