Meet your instructor, Christina!
She/Her

CHRISTINA HOPKINS has spent over 20 years doing what she loves – teaching art and guiding students as they discover their own creative voices. As an art educator, and Fine Arts Department Chair at Proctor High School in the Utica City School District, she shapes curriculum and culture through developing an environment where students learn to see, think, and create with purpose. She also teaches Art & Design education majors at Pratt Munson, mentoring the next generation of art teachers – a role that she finds especially meaningful. Her own creative practice aligns with telling stories through the lens of a camera and the tactile, hands-on nature of ceramics. For Christina, teaching and creating coexist, and this philosophy is woven into everything she does. In her free time, Christina loves hiking and is an aspiring Adirondack 46er. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
