MINI-COURSE: Sit & Knit
with Rebecca Robbins | Beginner - Intermediate | 16+
The Sit 'n Knit Mini-Course is offering two separate knitting projects, based on skill level:
- Are you a Total Beginner to knitting? Do you have no knitting knowledge, but want to learn? A Drawstring Bag would be a great way for you to get your needles working! It could be used by yourself or gifted to a loved one. This project will teach you the basics of knitting, give you practice with tension, reading patterns, learning new stitches and get you on your way to more complex and lengthier “art of knit” projects.
- Are you a Confident Beginner or Intermediate with some knitting experience, but have felt you needed to enhance your skills before trying a large project? This basic Tunic Sweater may be right for you! This sweater uses basic knitting skills such as ‘knit’, ‘purl’, ‘stockinette stitch’, ‘ribbing’, and ‘decreasing’ to form the sweater pieces. This project is a lengthier task, but you will learn the required skills necessary to work on your project even after the class has ended. You will be provided with all the directions needed to complete the sweater at home if your project ends up requiring some extra time. This Tunic Sweater will make a great addition to your fall wardrobe, or a great gift for someone special.

She/Her
Rebecca Robbins is a visual artist with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, concentrating in Photography, and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. Rebecca has a passion for turning simple yarn into great creations with texture, patterns and colors which can be worn or gifted. A lifelong creative, Rebecca discovered a love for knitting at an early age as a meditative counterbalance to the fast pace of everyday life. What began as a hobby quickly became a vital part of her artistic identity, influencing her approach to texture, pattern, and process. She believes in the power of slow art, handmade objects, and the quiet resilience of yarn.
Rebecca currently lives and works in the Mohawk Valley, and is excited to share her love of fiber craft through Munson Community Arts.
