MINI-COURSE | Painting En Plein Air
with Chad Smith | All Levels | Adults and Ages 18+
This four-session course focuses on a systematic approach to outdoor painting. Classes center around how to interpret the outdoor subject in an artistic way. Students are introduced to a formula that allows a “step-by-step” approach to successful results. Participants may choose to work with pastels, watercolors, acrylics, or oils however some familiarity with the chosen medium is recommended. In the case of inclement weather, please come with photo references to work from indoors or the instructor may provide source material. Any communications regarding locations/changes and weather adjustments will be sent via email at least an hour in advance of class. Materials list provided.

Meet your instructor, Chad!
He/Him
CHAD SMITH holds a BA in drawing and painting and MFA in painting from the Academy of Art University. He is an instructor at Pratt Munson College of Art and Design, Mohawk Valley Community College as well as teaching workshops and private students. Chad has enjoyed multiple solo and group exhibitions and has New York representation in Saratoga, Lake Placid, and Old Forge. Chad resides in New Hartford, New York with his wife Erin and two labs, Sargent and Ronin.
