MINI-COURSE
The Art of Creating Useful Woodwork
Joe Koronowski | Beginners - Intermediate | 18 +
Join fellow makers in this hands-on community art class where creativity and craftsmanship come together. Learn basic woodworking skills as you design and build a functional piece for your home — such as a beginner's project of a serving tray, or an intermediate's project of a small bench or keep sake box. With guidance from a skilled woodcraft artisan, you’ll transform simple materials into a piece that reflects your personal style. You’ll work alongside others in a fun, supportive setting that encourages sharing ideas and learning together. No experience is needed — just a willingness to create, connect, and leave with a handmade piece that’s truly designed and made by you!

Meet your instructor, Joe!

Joe Koronowski is a master craftsman who was raised in Marcy, NY among the scent of fresh-cut lumber and the hum of saws in his sawmill, and surrounded by the cows and pigs which they raised on the farm. Joe developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship from an early age. With self-taught woodworking techniques passed down through generations, he blends time-honored traditions with modern design to create functional art, and one-of-a-kind pieces.
As the owner and designer of Furniture From Scratch, a custom design and woodworking studio based in Houston, TX, Joe specializes in crafting furniture and home pieces that balance artistry, precision, and purpose. His work reflects both his heritage and his belief that every project tells a story — one that begins with raw wood and ends with something made to last and pass down for generations.
