The event is free and open to the public with an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024

“Quest for Light Collective” features electrifying and dynamic light-based sculptures by 22 current Pratt Munson students and alumni artists. The light structures are centered around highly crafted, welded three-dimensional objects with LED lights to celebrate collective memory in the domestic and natural environments.

The Psychedelic Haystacks, part of “Quest for Light Collective,” made up of 13 international Pratt Munson alumni artists, were inspired by Pointillism, a branch of Impressionism. The artwork uses pure UV pigments that are blended by the viewer’s eye to explore a range of vibrant tones, mimicking how some insects and animals see in the UV spectrum.

“Quest for Light Collective” is funded by the Munson Board of Trustees Innovation Fund.
