Museum of Art | Cardamone Gallery
The Alexander Calder sculpture Three Arches, 1963, is the crown jewel of Munson's Genesee Street lawn, and it has been reinstalled as part of the handsome Genesee Street lawn re-landscaping project funded by the New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative and the Greater Hudson Heritage Network. The sculpture has been conserved and repositioned on a new, lighted pad so that it will be shown to best advantage. To celebrate the return of Three Arches, the Museum has organized a focus exhibition on Calder and this work in the Cardamone Gallery. Featuring sculpture and works on paper from the Museum’s collection, this exhibition salutes the lively spirit that permeates all of Calder’s artwork.
